Winamp for Android 1.0.2 Fixes

This is a quick post about the patch releases to Winamp for Android, which we pushed out yesterday, March 22nd and on March 14th to address a few open issues. The latest version in the Android Market is Winamp 1.0.2.

SHOUTcast Blacklisting Removed
There are known issues with SHOUTcast streaming on certain devices (e.g. Motorola Droid X). Initially in the Winamp 1.0 release, on certain devices we temporarily replaced the SHOUTcast feature with a "History" feature. Our goal was to blacklist the SHOUTcast feature on those devices where the playback issue had been identified. Unfortunately, we cast the net too wide and this inadvertently removed SHOUTcast for users who had not experienced any playback issues. So for now, we've removed the blacklisting even though SHOUTcast is still not supported on all devices.

Stay tuned to the Winamp blog because in an upcoming release, we are building native SHOUTcast streaming in the Winamp for Android app enabling us to offer an enhanced playback experience across all devices and carriers.

*Note: If you've experienced issues with SHOUTcast streaming over your cellular network, try streaming over Wi-Fi.

SHOUTcast "My Favorite Stations"
We fixed an issue preventing playback from "My Favorite Stations" in SHOUTcast.

Permissions
Removed unneeded permissions.

Shuffle & Repeat
Some users were wondering what happened to Shuffle & Repeat. Those features are still available on the Now Playing screen, you just have to first tap on the screen to reveal additional options (see the image below).

Updated TOS
The latest version of Winamp for Android (1.0.2) includes an updated Terms of Service in the About section.

Hope you enjoy the new Winamp for Andriod, and help spread the word!
