By now, we hope you've had a chance to download Winamp 5.58 and check out the new features. As we mentioned in an earlier post, one of the highlights was the overhaul to the Podcast Directory. Not only is there a cleaner, more streamlined UI, but you can easily discover over 30,000 podcasts thanks to Mediafly's extensive directory.
With that said, thought it would be a good idea to cover some of our configuration options. If you go to Options >> Preferences (or just click Ctrl+P), you'll launch the Preferences window. In the left nav, select "Podcast Directory" (under Media Library). From there you have the following options:
Subscription Updates:
This allows you to determine the frequency that Winamp will check for updates to your subscribed podcasts. You can choose: Manually, Week, Day, or Hour. You also have the option to select the "Update on launch" check box.
Download New Episodes:
This option allows you to choose how frequently you want to download the podcast to your computer. If you want to simply stream the podcast and not download it to your PC, select Never. Otherwise, you have the options for: Most recent episode, Last 2 episodes, Last 3 episodes, or Last 5 episodes.
Podcast Download Location:
Allows you choose where you want to save your podcast files.
Enable Resume Playback:
This option will enable Winamp to resume playback of your podcast from your last played position. Basically it allows you to pickup where you left off.
